EB Whitt grew up in central Texas and from early junior high has had a passion for theatre. Although a natural introvert, being on stage brought out the true performer in EB. While stage acting was EB's first love, he also enjoys directing.
EB and Rene adopted their only daughter when she was just 3 years old. Life was forever changed. Their daughter has Down Syndrome and is their greatest source of joy. Raising a child with special needs is an adventure and one EB desired to capture on stage. He was inspired to write his first play about their sweet little girl whom he affectionately calls, Ladybug.
EB is in the process of completing the script for his second full length play that will be based on a comically grouchy patriarch and dysfunctional branches of his family tree.
Rene Whitt was born and raised in northwest Louisiana but has fallen in love with life in Texas. Rene's biggest dream as a little girl was to become a wife and mother. She and EB married in 2006 and, through the blessing of adoption, became parents in 2014.
Rene loves being a girl mom and writing down the funny and mischievous antics that fill everyday with her daughter. Friends and family have loved reading the Tylee stories on social media and encouraged Rene to write a book.
Rene took their advise and wrote her first children's book in 2020. It introduces the main character who, like Tylee, has Down Syndrome. The goal is to normalize social and educational inclusion and encourage acceptance of those who are differently abled.
Rene recently completed the script for her second children's book and is working now to add illustrations. There are several books in the series planned for the future.
